As you may have noticed the title of the website is now Kreativ Sounds 3.1. Yes, I finally managed to do a exhausting, but necessary update of KS after two weeks of work. In the past 6 months I’ve accumulated many ideas, but also many were dropped.

No more talk, here’s what’s new:

• Try out the new Kreativ Sounds CSE (custom search engine);
• Better feeds and feeds newsletter. We deleted our newsletter database with over 10000 contacts. Some might say this is stupid, but I don’t care. I want read our users to have a more democratic way or subscribing to our news and that is the RSS way. Please read our feeds vs newsletter manifesto and subscribe to our RSS Feed.
• Images Lightbox2 effect implemented. Now the pictures that do not fit the width of news column are opened in Java window. If the pictures are from the same set you can even browse between them without leaving the Java window. Watch Lightbox 2 in effect on Reason 4 page.
• Some older post revised with added information
• Our e-shop has an add to cart system and also the new add to cart icon.
• KS is now running on the latest version (2.2.1) of WordPress from 2.0.7. At first I did not wanted to upgrade, because I was afraid not broke something, but now I’m glad I did it! Also recent hackers activities on Kaos Audio made me think about it seriously. I hope the new fixes and the new Akismet 2 spam fighter will stop them (for a while at least).
• Last but not least (I’m very proud about this one), I’ve made lots of fixes to in order to make the website look fine in the most popular web browsers Mozilla Firefox 2, Internert Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Apple Safari 3 and Opera 9

Thanks to all that send me suggestions and comments. More new features are already on the table that will make this website more enjoyable.

The new Kreativ Sounds has a RSS feed for some time now, but it was hidden in our Community page and many of you may not have discover it. Now I made it more visible by putting an icon link () to our RSS feed right in the menu bar.

So what is a RSS feed? The RSS (now at version 2.0) initials stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically with an RSS feed you can read new from your favorite websites using a feed reader or aggregator. The feed reader checks your feeds regularly for new content, downloading any news available.

I think the RSS feeds are a lot better then the newsletters. Why? Well there are some important advantages:

1. You can read all the news from your favorites websites in one place with your feed reader and that’s saves a lot of time;
2. No spam, no email address management, no stupid email filters, no space limit;
3. Unsubscribe anytime you want and stay unsubscribe (unlike when you try to unsubscribe from email spam);
4. Less headaches for the publishers to reach the audience, more time for writing good articles
5. RSS is a democratic system and brings good karma for the user and the publisher.

What I’ve said is not new and you might already use the RSS technology to read your news. But if you don’t, then you have to try, you’ll love it!

Important: I decided to delete the database with all the users subscribed to Kreativ Sounds Newsletter in the past and I want to THANK YOU for that, but we have to move on with the new technologies and if still want to stay updated to Kreativ Sounds news, then please can use our new RSS News feeds. Note: These days all the important browsers (IE7, Firefox, Safari) already have the ability to read feeds implemented by default.

As you may already know Kreativ Sounds use Share-It as a payment processor for selling products. We used it for over 4 years now and we think it’s the best and most secure payment processor. But with the new features implemented this year is even better now!
One of the most important new feature is that now Share-It accepts PayPal payments, which means that now you can use also PayPal to buy Kreativ Sounds products!

I don’t know if BASStard Lite is a success or not, but I can say it is HOT … Why?

We had over 1100 downloads in 14 days, that means about 78 downloads per day. For some other type of software this is not much, but for a reason refill it’s great.

Now that we know BASStard Lite is HOT, we also want to know if it’s good …

So, please share with your impressions, suggestions or criticism on BASStard Lite … this is only version 1.0, so it is room for improvements.

Day by day things are getting some shapes around the new version (3.0) of this website. The downloads and community pages have been updated a bit, also 4 new links has been added to the links section.

If you are a reason user I recommend that you download our new reason refill. If you already have BASStard Lite please let us know what you think about it …

I know there are many more things to be done around here, but I’m gonna ask anyway … What are your first impressions on the new design for Kreativ Sounds?
